IDE’s Ashley Thomas puts in some time with her new pedal rope pump prototype in our shop. Pedaling gives more power than hand operation. Rope pumps let people access water to 30 or 40m. The combination could be promising, providing irrigation capacity in areas where the water is too low for a treadle pump.
