The guy on the left is Matt, my best friend. The woman beside him is Naomi, his beautiful new bride. As this posts, they’re enjoying their honeymoon, somewhere near that Pacific Ocean behind them.
New Years is an excuse to take a breath, reflect back on our progress and dream about our future. That’s a good thing. If you do the whole New Year’s resolution thing, make sure you tell as many people as you can - you’re far more likely to carry through. If not, you can still dream about the next year and beyond. No commitments. Just great thoughts and healthy optimism.
What are your plans? Dreams? Expectations for 2010 and beyond? I’d love to hear them, and why they’re important to you. With enough replies, I’ll jump in too in the comments. And if we can start 2010 with a fraction of the potential and optimism that Matt and Naomi must be feeling, we’ll get along just fine.
Congratulations you two, and happy New Year to everyone.

All these years, I didn’t realize you were dyslexic. Matt is on the left.
My resolution is to do more good. A very nebulous thing. But I want my motivation to be more external, and less internal.
Happy year, my dear.

Agreed, wicked shot. I am sure there are more where this came from.
Plans for 2010…. I would say to stress less, but feel that this is unlikely; it’s going to be a big year. Also work out more, and spend more time with friends. Simple I know, but sometimes these are the best ones.
