Nolen on Canada’s Role

by Brendan on May 25, 2009

Stephanie Nolen, Award-winning Globe and Mail correspondent and author, recently gave an address to King’s College, Halifax, as she received an honorary degree. It’s concise. It’s passionate. It does what she does best: opens Canadian eyes to the world outside our shores, and our roles in it. Our circumstantial, accidental and planned roles.  We’re not innocent, but we can be active in trying to address this. All it takes is a little selective naivete and drive.

It’s worth a read.

really enjoyed it - thanks.
it reminds me that everytime I come across a situation I deem as a ‘failure or disappointment’ that there is often, if not always an opportunity. may not be readily apparent but with patience and hard work….it always comes. Stephanie Nolen has always been a reminder to me that there are no compromises to the truth/integrity because without it….what is left?
